SMU Formal Recruitment
Panhellenic Formal Recruitment is a yearly intake process that begins in the fall semesters with registration and information sessions. Each January, before school starts, our chapter holds four days of recruitment parties (known as "rounds") where we introduce our chapter to Potential New Members ("PNMs"). This process is concluded with the very best day of the year BID DAY. It's like a Birthday, Valentine's Day and New Year's Eve all wrapped up in one celebration for our newest Gamma Phi Betas.
Students classified as Freshmen may attend Formal Recruitment activities.
September 6th: Spring Registration Opens
September 15th: Information Session #1 (required)
October 23rd: Spring Registration Deadline
October 27th: Information Session #2 (required
Tues, January 12th: Orientation Meeting (required)
Wed, January 13th: Open House Round
Thurs, January 14th: Philanthropy Round
Fri, January 15th: Sisterhood Round
Sat, January 16th: Preference Round

Informal Recruitment (COB)
Panhellenic Informal Recruitment is an opportunity for our members to meet and get to know potential new members outside the time frame of Formal Recruitment. These events are put on by the chapter alone and could be held at the house or at another venue. These events do allow the chapter to extend membership to potential members through a Continuous Open Bidding (COB) process. They could be held throughout the year, however Freshmen students can only attend these events in the Spring semester after Formal Recruitment has ended.
To participate in Fall Recruitment you must have passed and completed at least 12 college credit hours at SMU or previous college/university if transferring.
If you are interested in learning more about Gamma Phi Beta and/or would like to know about upcoming COB event dates, please send us you contact information below and we will get back to you.
